A historic home in desperate need of repair

This project includes a complete overhaul of both the interior and exterior. Out of compliance with HPOZ requirements, Zelda was enlisted to represent the client throughout the redesign and presentation of this 1930’s spanish revival abode to the Hancock Park HPOZ Commission, as well as lead the design direction in fabrication of historically authentic reproductions. Currently underway, we will restore it to its original charm.

This property was in need of a major overall in order to restore its original charm and gain compliance with Hancock Park HPOZ requirements. Major changes were implemented and Zelda was enlisted to take part in its rehabilitation efforts.

Restore order to the jewels of the home

In coordination with historic guidelines, we removed the aluminum, french contemporary style window and brought back a 35 light leaded glass window with classic, wooden framing. Fabrication for the original iron decorative grate is currently underway.

The first thing was to remove the concrete and bring the 100 yo. dedar tree back to life. We replaced the aluminum window with a wooden framed, 35 light, leaded glass reproduction.

Remove the elements that never belonged

From the design down to the mounting style - nothing about this gate style made sense for the home. We completed a full redesign of all iron details.
