We translate inner worlds into homes

Our clients arrive with collections, obsessions, travel notes, inherited pieces, architectural references, and a sense of style that does not fit neatly into any one category.

We translate those fragments of inspiration into a clear design language through architecture, floor plans, finishes, furnishings, art, objects, and layers of atmosphere.

From concept to installation, our process is creatively charged, technically rigorous, and handled with first-class service, protecting your time while giving designing a home that feels unmistakably made for the lives it will witness.

Custom Homes

When you've made the effort to build an extraordinary life, your home should feel nothing less than extraordinary. Zelda designs interiors for ground-up residences and large-scale custom homes, typically ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 square feet, with an emphasis on architectural details, material selections, custom millwork, furnishings, art, and the final layers that make a house feel livable.

We work closely with architects, contractors, builders, and specialized trades to keep the vision intact from early concepts and finish direction to final installation.

Clients come to us wanting a home that can keep up with the life they have built — the excellence of it, the privacy it requires, the attention to detail, and the level of style they refuse to compromise on.

They leave with a home that looks beautiful and feels complete because it could not belong to anyone else.

Historic Rehabilitation

At Zelda, we approach historic rehabilitation through an anthropologic lens. Respecting the historical detail and craftsmanship, and the character that makes a house worth preserving in the first place.

We protect defining features, restore what time has worn down, and introduce new layers with care, so the home can function well  without losing the beauty and history that drew you to it.

In close coordination with preservation consultants, contractors, specialized trades, and HPOZ requirements, we help navigate the approvals, constraints, and old-house particularities without losing sight of the larger design vision.

Clients come to us wanting to honor the historic charm of their home, while delicately introducing modern functionality.

Trusted and recognized by leading historic preservation organizations, Los Angeles Conservancy and Pasadena Heritage.

We are especially drawn to Spanish, Monterey, Mission, and French Revival homes.

Eclectic Interiors

Our furnishing service is for clients whose taste refuses a single category.

We build the world of the client through furniture, art, objects, textiles, finishes, and custom pieces. The inherited, the commissioned, the polished, the strange, the sentimental, the impossible-to-explain-but-absolutely-essential, all placed with purpose.

Zelda provides end-to-end design direction, including concept creation, custom furniture, art and accessory curation, fabrication oversight, procurement, and installation.

The result is an environment that supports how you live while reflecting the extraordinary life you’ve built.

A home that feels collected from your life, not selected from a showroom.

From concept to completion

Our process is structured to give each project clarity, continuity, and control from the first idea the final installation.

Our Process

  • Research

At the start of each project, we study the architecture, the site, the scope, and the world of the client. We study your references, rituals, collections, ambitions, and the way you want to live. From there, we define the project objectives, timeline, deliverables, and scope of work. Using the existing or reimagined architecture as the foundation, we begin building the creative direction for the interiors.

  • Development

Selections are refined, documented, and prepared for presentation, allowing clients to clearly understand how the project is taking shape before moving forward. This phase establishes the visual and material language of the home, ensuring that each element aligns with the overall vision and meets the standard of quality, intention, and execution required for the project.

  • Procurement

We manage ordering, vendor communication, lead times, item tracking, receiving, storage, and coordination with discretion and precision. Items are received in a secure, temperature-controlled warehouse and tracked throughout the second half of the project, so everything is ready when installation begins.

  • Installation

Whether the project is a new build, historic renovation, or full furnishing, we oversee the placement of materials, furniture, accessories, art, and final details, making sure every piece arrives, lands, and lives where it should. This process is followed by final detailing to make sure that all aspects of the project meet our standards before officially closing out the project, leaving you with a homes that’s ready to be lived in and shown off.
